![Allo or mutual grooming occurs between two cats of the same social group 🐈🐈 🐾 It involves each cat grooming the other around the head and neck area, but sometimes only one cat will groom the other 🐾 Allogrooming is thought to occur between cats that have a good relationship and are relaxed in each others company. It can help to strengthen their social bond and maintain the group scent 💕💕 🐾 However... This may not always be the case and some studies have shown that allogrooming can occur between cats that have shown to be previously aggressive with each other, possibly as a way of reducing tension or preventing fighting or injury 🐾Cats can also show aggressive behaviours towards each other during or after being groomed and it's not always a pleasurable experience for the groomee! 🐱So there you have it!
